WAI Powder Coating System

Finally there is a system by which each model is powder-cost - and with totally professional results!
Reviews for this coating system can be found in the magazine in the machine model (05/2007) and Jornal steam and hot air (03/2008)

How does the WAI system?
The plastic powder is blown through a blower built into the gun through an electrically charged nozzle. The charged particles also stick to the charged workpiece and place evenly on its surface. The workpiece is then placed in an oven, for example, where it melts at about 200 ° C, the powder layer to form a homogeneous plastic sheath.

The WAI scheme opens up new dimensions: so far remained mostly a powder coating, although perfect, but awkward-to-implement option of surface treatment - feasible only by special companies and related costs, access roads and especially long waiting times.
The perfect solution has been sacrificed to the practical - Painting with the airbrush, and thus a less robust and rarely convincing surface.
In contrast with the WAI system: Without effort, parts in the same time as being necessary for the painting, powder coated in a very professional quality. Ca. half an hour in the oven, let cool down and the parts are einbaubereit. without the "noses", completely evenly. And do not worry: the fusing process is virtually odorless.

Advantages over painting:

Extremely durable and resistant to abrasion
Without drying time for immediate use
Optimum corrosion protection
Environmentally friendly as no solvents
Absolutely uniform surface quality
Elastic coating eg for springs

Delivery

Coating gun
220V power supply
Temperature-resistant tape to seal as in the painting
Hook for hanging the parts
Silikonpropfen assortment of holes to close
20g black powder to get started immediately
Instruction Booklet

The powder coating is available in various RAL colors in Bengs model in 250g containers.

Powder coating practical tips

For high heat load components can be the limiting temperature of the powder "trick". Melting the powder at high temperature (200 ° C), let it cool down and heat it on for about two hours to about 140 ° C.

To achieve optimum depth of the gloss coating, you can proceed as follows. Colour coating with relatively high temperature to melt and then cooled piece is not entirely a layer of "Colorless Transparent gloss Apply". Then again melted with rather low temperature (about 160 ° C).

We are often asked for a way how to fill irregularities in the workpiece. Large dents or the like can not fill and coat, small to about 3 mm diameter well, however (eg voids). Just add heat-resistant filler is needed. In that case, JB Weld 2K adhesive is quite outstanding.

The reason of such fins can often bepulvern not the normal way. It depends on the concentration of the electric field at the tips of the ribs that shield down, so to speak. Bepulvern In such a case, normal to the ground terminal, clamp it off then put the piece in short, against a large ground potential (eg large metal part) and bepulvern it again without a ground terminal.
