Product information "Marking gauge"

Marking gauge analog

This sturdy analogue marking gauge in stainless steel version is outfitted with a replaceable hard metal-mounted tear-off needle. The resolution of the dial gauge is 0.01mm. The largest dimension to measure is 310mm.

Due to the adjustment wheel attached to the back, every dimension can be set very quickly and cleanly. The marking unit can be fixed by means of a locking screw. The analog dial gauge has a diameter of 55mm and is therefore very easy to read. The dial gauge is rotatable. A further great advantage with the analog variant of the marking gauge is that it does not need batteries.

The 2 counters for full millimeters can be set to zero. If you want to draw a hole pattern with only the hole spacing, place the needle in the center of the workpiece, zero the counters, and move the needle to the desired height up and down.

Digital marking gauge

The stainless steel digital marking gauge has a replaceable hard metal pin.

The division of the digital scale is 0.01mm. The largest dimension to measure is 310mm.

The marking unit has a second carriage for fine adjustment. Both slides have a fixing screw for fixing. The digital unit can be changed from mm to inch. In addition, an absolute zero point and an incremental zero point can be set. The incremental zero point is required if you want to draw a hole pattern in which only the hole distances are dimensioned. The needle in the center of the workpiece will have incremental zeros, and now move the needle to the desired height up and down. After that, you will return to the absolute measure and you have again the distance between the drawing pin and the marking plate.

Soft soldering paste
Soft soldering paste for brass, copper, steel and silver steel. The paste is applied thinly to the parts to be tinned and heated with a brazing lamp. For large-area soft soldering, it is optimal to tin- the parts beforehand. For example, we use the paste to pre-tine the cylinder and the mirror when constructing a model steam engine. The tinning paste can also be used optimally as a flux substitute. The soft soldering paste is excellently suitable as corrosion protection for steel parts. Bengs Modellbau uses the zinc paste for steel cylinders with a cooling water jacket. For example in the Flammenfresser Kurfürst. Stirring the paste before use is not necessary! The soft soldering paste may be diluted with water. Model building wrench
The wrenches are milled from our own production of 2mm brass flat material. Due to their filigree design, they are particularly suitable for tight spots on your technical models. Of course, the keys are not as strong as steel wrenches, but they are perfect for steam model building and bolting of model building screws. Thanks to their natural design, they are also suitable for hanging in their model machine hall. Key SW3 Total length: 31mm Key SW4 Overall length: 42mm Key SW5,5 Overall length: 58mm You can also buy a key set, which includes keys SW3, SW4 and SW5,5

High temperature soft solder
High temperature soft solder with a melting point of 250 ° C is suitable for fittings, pipelines and components on steam engines, Stirling engines and flame eaters. The soft solder is filled with a flux that burns without residue when flame brazing (flux residues must be removed in the case of piston soldering !!!). If you need additional flux, you can use normal soft solder flux. Due to the increased melting point of 250 °, it is a good alternative to brazing. However, the high-temperature softening braze can not replace brazing. This product should not be used in the vicinity of the boiler. The use of silver solder is recommended. Wire diameter: 1mm Wire length: 1000mm This product is unleashed !!!

Safety valve
This safety valve is made of brass. It is significantly smaller than the weight safety valve. This makes it suitable for smaller boilers or steam systems. The safety valve is loaded with a stainless ball and spring. The screw-in thread of the pressure relief valve is M6x0.75. Our soldering sockets are best suited, which are soldered into the boiler in order to subsequently screw in the safety valve. Under no circumstances should a steam boiler be operated without a safety valve. The safety valve prevents the maximum pressure from being exceeded. The safety valve is set to 4bar, but can be adjusted.  Dimensions of safety valve:  Height with thread: 37mm  Height without thread: 31mm  Wrench size: 10 mm The matching Solder sleeve M6x0.75 can be found here.
