Product information "Flame Licker Lutz Material kit"
The standing vacuum motor or flame eater Lutz is similar in dimensions to our very popular flame eater The Big Nick. The flame eater Lutz is also equipped with a cooling water pump and a cooler with a fan. The standing design and complex design make this model an impressive operational model.
The flame eater Lutz is mostly made of brass. The flywheels are made of gray cast iron and have already been pre-turned. Lutz is mounted on a Jatoba wood panel. The crankshaft and the eccentric roller have ball bearings. It runs at around 200-300 rpm. The distance between the flame and the cylinder head is adjusted using a handwheel, thus changing the speed.
All milled parts have already been machined and some still need to be drilled. All turned parts are still in their raw state and need to be turned. The materials, screws, ball bearings and spring elements required to build the flame eater and burner are included in the kit.

We have silver braided bars with a silver content of 55% (L-Ag55) with a length of 500mm. Because of the relatively low melting point of this silver braze, the model builder in the field of technical model building is almost exclusively concerned. The working temperature of this hard solder is 630 ° C. The silver as an alloying component in the solder does not only reduce the working temperature, but also improves the flow properties. Furthermore, silver has the positive property of combining well with other metals. For brazing brass and steel, silver solder flux is essential. The low working temperature of the silver solder bars allows the thermal load to be as low as possible for the processed material. It is important not to heat the workpieces too much, especially in the case of brass. In combination with our silver solder flux you achieve with these silver solder always optimal results.
The silver braided bars can be purchased from us in the shop in 2 different diameters. For fine soldering as it often happens in technical model construction we recommend the 1mm rods. The 1mm silver braided bars are easy to carry with the hand and can be easily melted with small burners. For larger parts we prefer the 1.5 mm silver solder bars. With these rods you get faster material to the soldering point if needed. What can be brazed? The following materials can be combined with silver solder: brass, copper, gunmetal, gray cast iron, rusting steels and stainless steel. A combination of the materials among each other is easily possible with this silver braze solder. If the material is not known to you, it is always recommended to solder a piece to the sample beforehand. This allows you to determine whether the materials can be combined with the silver braze.Instructions Brazing with silver solder
If you have never worked on silver solder and you are not sure how the exact solder brazing procedure is with silver solder, we can help you before you buy the silver solder. We have created a guide for you in our Bengs Modellbaumagazin on the topic "Brazing with silver solder". Here you can find out what you need and have to consider if you want to solder 2 components with silver solder.
Tip: Flux residues and discoloration of the material can be optimally eliminated with our satin brushes or abrasive fleece!Characteristics of the silver solder bars500 mm long.

With these 800g brass scraps you always have a little spare material on hand.
You get 200g of Ms58 flat material between 2mm and 6mm thick and
600g Ms58 round material between 3mm and 50mm diameter.
The exact composition is of course always different.
These glass oilers for model making are made from brass. The sight glass is made of impact-resistant acrylic glass. Both sizes have a connection thread with an M3 meter standard thread. The glass oilers have a fixed flow rate. The flow hole is 1.0mm. The oilers are designed as cup oilers and do not have a top lid. The real glass oilers can be installed on cylinders of flame eaters and Assemble Stirling engines. Of course, the glass oilers also look very good on eccentrics, bearing blocks of steam engines or internal combustion engines.
The oilers are available in 2 different sizes.
Dimensions of glass oiler 6mm cannot be adjusted
Total height: 20.5mm
Diameter glass: 5mm
Largest diameter: 6mm

This casting set was designed on the model of a Dürkopp gas engine. The finished model has an impressive total height of 430mm and many special details. This casting set was previously marketed by Ravensburger steam models. From now on this cast kit is available from us.
To build this casting set, you should already have experience in this model construction area. The flywheel with 280mm diameter requires a large and stable lathe, with a sufficiently large lining and planar disc. You also need a larger milling machine to finish the castings.
This engine is a special construction, the crankshaft lies above and the piston plunges down into the cylinder. This type of motor is called the plunger motor. A cam disk is driven via two bevel gears, through which the inlet and outlet valves are actuated. The valves are not mounted in the cylinder chamber, as are customary today, but are located outside in their own valve housings. In addition, this motor is equipped with a centrifugal governor, which can be used to regulate the amount of the incoming gas.
The Dürkopp immersion piston engine has been designed for operation with gas. It can be operated directly with gas from a propane bottle. Of course, this engine can also be operated with petrol. For this, however, the gas mixer must be exchanged for a carburettor. Our experience has shown that this engine runs with gas much smoother and more beautiful. We recommend operating with gas.
Required tools and machinesFor the construction of the combustor, an extensive workshop, with a large lathing machine and a medium-sized stable milling machine is needed. The lathe should be able to machine a flywheel with an outer diameter of 300 mm. For machining the castings on the lathe, a planar disk should also be present. In addition, a stator drilling machine and a torch for soldering larger parts will be available. Furthermore, hand tools (taps M2, M3, M4, M6x0,75, M10x1 / cutter M2, M3, M4, M8, M6x0,75, M10x1 / reamers 3H7, 4H7, 5H7, 6H7,15H7 files, drill set) are necessary , To solder the ignition, a soldering iron is required for this model.
We have prepared for you an extensive construction report of the Dürkopp gas engine. The building report is subdivided into subassemblies and is designed to assist you in the manufacture of the engine. Furthermore, you can see in the building report whether your machine park is of sufficient size.
